Tell Congress to fund the Affordable Connectivity program!

    Petition to Congress:
We urge you to pass renewed funding for the Affordable Connectivity program and ensure all Americans have access to affordable, reliable internet services.

The Affordable Connectivity Act was passed in 2021 to ensure all Americans had access to reliable broadband internet. It made a huge difference for countless families, especially in Native, Black, and Latino communities.1 But funding to ensure people have access to the internet is expiring.

That’s why we need Congress to renew funding for the Affordable Connectivity program. But House Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to bring this funding up for a vote.

At this point, the internet isn’t just an accessory – it’s a critical component of how we live our lives. It impacts employment, jobs, our health, and our ability to communicate with our loved ones and community. Yet despite bipartisan support, Speaker Johnson refuses to let Congress vote on renewing the Affordable Connectivity program’s funding.2 Letting the program expire would negatively impact nearly 30% of his own constituents.

Congress can’t allow the Affordable Connectivity program to expire. It would have a devastating impact on countless families and actively contribute to racial inequality.
